Unlocking bootloader of Xiaomi phones can be tricky. I have written an awesome article to unlock the bootloader of any Xiaomi device within hours. How to Update Redmi Note 4 to LineageOS 15 Oreo ROM

  1. Download both LineageOS ROM and corresponding Google Apps package and copy to the internal storage of your Redmi.
  2. Power off your phone.
  3. Reboot your phone to custom recovery. (TWRP 3+ recommended)
  4. Hold “Volume Down + Power+ Volume Up” for at least 3 seconds and then release the buttons when it vibrates.
  5. Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from the recovery. Or choose factory reset.
  6. Now choose the downloaded ROM(.zip) and flash. Once it’s done, go back and flash GApps in the same way.redmi note 4 oreo lineageos 15
  7. Reboot system.
