OxygenOS 4.5.7 was recently withdrawn by the OnePlus team and now you can update OnePlus 5 with the latest OxygenOS 4.5.8 OTA firmware. They’ve been busy with releasing newer updates in order to fix the existing bugs and provide the users with a more stable ROM.
OxygenOS 4.5.8 OTA update is made available all OnePlus 5 global users and you don’t have to manually sideload as it’s rolled out for everyone. That being said, in case you own a OnePlus 5 and didn’t receive the OxygenOS 4.5.8 version update via OTA, you can refer this guide to manually update the device to a more clutterless firmware.
One of the biggest features of this update is EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for 4K video shooting. This is, indeed, a much-expected feature as most its competitors have this option by default. OnePlus 5 users have also reported about high battery drain on idle state. Thankfully, this issue has also been addressed with this update. Other changes include:
OxygenOS 4.5.8 New Additions
- The introduction of OnePlus Slate font.
- Updated Android security patch level to 1st July 2017
- Wi-Fi connectivity improvements
- Standby battery enhancements
- Fixed occasional sound leaks in the speakers when using earphones
- Fixed camera shutter sound bug in silent mode for Indian region
- Fixed occasional stutters when playing games
- Fixed battery drain for Jio users
